They represent solid companies that chose to join their strengths with another independent bearing & power transmission distributor, so that together we could continue the valuable service that truly independent distributors provide our customers every day!
Founded in 1926, Bates Sales Company grew to serve as the premier partner in bearing and power transmission for a number of industries such as mining, aggregate, food & beverage, manufacturing, agriculture, construction, and packaging. Acquired by Purvis in 2013, Bates' 10 locations have been fully re-branded as Purvis Industries, offering the same outstanding product knowledge, support, and customer service as the original Bates Sales Company did for nearly 100 years.
Conveyor and Drive Equipment Company specialized in design, manufacturing, and service in bulk material handling conveyors. Founded in 1978, Conveyor and Drive Equipment was a single-source solution for screw conveyors, drag conveyors, and belt conveyors. Today, the company is part of our St. Louis, MO location of Purvis Industries, operating from a modern fabrication shop within our 112,000 square foot facility.
Design Manufacturing and Equipment Company was a quick turnaround machining operation. With experienced, long-tenured machinists, that kind of experience translated to quality and creative solutions to ensure customer satisfaction. Design Equipment has also been incorporated into our St. Louis, MO facility and still exists today as part of Purvis Industries.
Munroe Material Handling was founded in 1944. Munroe Material Handling specialized in unit handling, packaging and distribution. They are an integration partner of Hytrol Conveyor Company, one of the most respected and recognized brands in the material handling industry. Today, the company has been re-branded into American Package Handling Systems, and is still located in St. Louis, MO.
St. Louis Vibrator Products was founded in 1954, and specialized in the manufacturing and distribution of industrial vibration equipment. The company designed, engineered, and fabricated vibrating tables and other industrial equipment. This equipment primarily was used in refractory applications and aggregate installations. Today, the company is part of our Purvis Industries branch in St. Louis, MO.
C & L Gear and Machine is a shop that specializes in small lot, quick turnaround, quality gears. Their machinery could cut gears up to 16" in diameter, and they specialized in spur gears. Today the capabilities of C & L Gear and Machine have been incorporated into the Purvis Industries branch in St. Louis, MO.
Added to Purvis Industries in the mid-2000's, this business unit focused on custom shafting, odd materials, and hard-to-find shafting. It is now handled as part of our regular Purvis Bearing Service mechanical power transmission business unit.
A&W Bearings is a three location company that was located in Dallas, Garland, and Nacogdoches, TX. Serving primarily the bearing and power transmission markets in those cities, they joined Purvis in 2016.
Bearing Belt Chain was a three location company headquartered in Las Vegas, NV. In 2009, they joined the Purvis family and brought our westernmost expansion with them.
Belt Maintenance Group was located in Mount Pleasant, TX. They were a conveyor belt service, splice, and sales organization. Purvis acquired them in 2010 and made them a part of CAPCORP, and also opened a Purvis Industries branch in Mt. Pleasant to complement the service offering.
Located in Phoenix, AZ and Elko, NV, IMS and her sister company Sun Belt Supply were focused on supplying conveyor components, power transmission components, and conveyor belting into the hard rock mining industries of the West. Joining Purvis in 2015, these two companies strengthed Purvis' capabilties in the Rocky Mountains for conveyor belt and service. They exist today as our IMSCO business unit, focused on hard rock mining in the Rocky Mountains.
Bearing Solutions, Inc.
Located in Houston and Odessa, TX, Bearing Solutions joined Purvis Industries in 2011. Focused primarily on the oilfield, the two stores were renamed to National Petroleum Oilfield Products - we just call them "NPOP"! Still in those two cities, NPOP understands the demanding nature of oilfield business and the time pressures that result from those demands.
Acadiana Bearing
Acadiana Bearing was located in Lafayette, LA and served the Gulf Coast region in southwestern Louisiana. Acquired by Purvis in 2015, they became the primary branch in Lafayette when the existing Purvis branch merged in with them.
